[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This term the Leadership Centre’s Inquiry topic was Community Art.
We were commissioned to create a mural along the Maling Road underpass to represent Canterbury Primary and the local community. As a result we spent time researching and designing our own murals to pitch to the council. We look forward to seeing if it’s approved.
Year 6 students invited their buddies to see the Rube Goldberg machines they had been creating in Applied Maths. Students shared their learning, reflecting on successes and failures, with some machines cooking toast, turning on lights and making popcorn.
Each Friday students from the Leadership Centre participated in Interschool Sports.
During the Term, Year 6 students have been busy exploring the lives of soldiers who served at Gallipoli, the Battlefield, the communication and the technology involved in WWI. To celebrate their hard work, we baked ANZAC biscuits and ate them while listening to our peers present.
During Literacy this term students in Year 5 have been learning about Australian soldiers in Gallipoli. Students researched what 24 hours at Gallipoli may have been like for the soldiers and used ‘Comic Maker’ to create a comic of images and narrative.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” interval=”3″ images=”1013,1014,1015,1016,1017,1018,1019,1020,1021,1022,1023,1024″ layout=”3″ gallery_style=”1″ onclick=”link_image” custom_links_target=”_self”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
