Once again, our Spring Working Bee attracted a great turnout of parents and kids, who enjoyed the warm weather and managed a good number of important tasks. We ended up with close to 40 parents, 45 kids and 8 committee members and teachers. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful effort.

Gardening: – rubbish and weeds were cleaned up all around the school ground and perimeter; tan bark was spread through the Leeds Street gardens; new trees were planted along the Highfield Road fence, as well as in the Senior Playground area, which involved lots of heavy digging and soil carting; the circular garden and Chinese garden were cleaned up and fertilizing was done all around the school gardens. Grounds: – storm water drains and pits were cleaned; mulch raked back and soft play added to the playgrounds; sandpits were sieved, raked and topped up; leaves were cleaned up on and around the oval and all around the school grounds.

Painting: – the warm weather ensured the completion of a number of painting tasks. Seat benches were touched up; whiteboards and weatherboards were repainted in the foundation area; graffiti was removed from the new school wall.

Construction & Maintenance: – thanks again to Greg and his team of willing and able builder dads for managing a number of maintenance and construction tasks.

Flying Fox

The final stage of the senior playground was completed with the relocation and new construction of the flying fox equipment; the old picket fence near the barbecue area was demolished; the steel railing adjacent the oval was removed. Many thanks to the committee members for the excellent effort on Saturday, and once again, thanks to Melinda and the Parent Co-ordinators for assigning tasks, looking after everyone and for the lovely morning tea.

As always, thanks to Andrea, Tess and Sarah in the school office for your ongoing support.

If you missed this working bee please attend the final one. (Years 1 & 2 – Sat 8th November)
