Student Empowerment

At Canterbury Primary School we aim to incorporate student voice and agency into all of our learning programs. Teachers co-create the learning opportunities with students in a partnership and plan with the students rather than planning for the students. Opportunities for students to engage in authentic real world environments encourages engagement in the task and promotes the development of 21st Century skills such as creativity, communication, citizenship, critical thinking, collaboration and developing character. We aim to provide students with the opportunities to do real work with real tools for an authentic audience and focus on engaging students in projects that call on their passions and interests in a irresistibly engaging learning environment.
